Maker’s bio
Claire studied literature and art at university in Leeds, before embarking on a career in midwifery. As a painter, Claire’s representations of the natural world are influenced by years she spent in Africa as a child, and by her admiration for the work of contemporary African artists. As a textile craftsperson, Claire practices and teaches the upcycling of fashion to support efforts to address the climate crisis and the cost-of-living crisis.
